Welcome!
My name is Andrew Thompson.
I live in Austin, Texas (USA), and after a brief six-year stint as the Webmaster/Developer for the alumni association of a large university, I am again self-employed. I do backend development for websites on a freelance basis and I am a photographer.
I came to the USA twenty years ago from the UK.
When I left school in the UK, I became a Trainee (cost) Accountant. Then I moved to the airline industry in a variety of customer service roles, working around the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. When I moved to the USA I got a job arranging corporate travel, then specialized in international air fare calculation.
This led to a position with a travel management company as the MIS Manager and the start of my career with computers and software development.
After a move to a global travel company performing software installs and training thoughout the USA and Canada, I worked for an airline services company. Now I was developing mission-critical software for airline support operations.
In 1997 I became self-employed and created c9c (Cloud 9 Communications), developing and supporting software for airlines and travel management companies.
Now I am in Austin, creating/supporting websites, and enjoying digital photography.
This is a great city!
